132 McKeen Street Brunswick, Maine 04011 207-725-2624 Family Groups at St. Charles In late 1995, Father Peter McGrath, a Passionist Priest from Sydney, Australia, extended his Family Group movement initiative from Australia to the United States. Among three other parishes here in Maine, St. Charles was selected by him to be one of the initial recipient sites to foster the Movement. Father "Peter" arrived in Brunswick, established a core of Group Leaders, "planted the seed", and we were on our way to making history for the Family Group Movement in this country. With seven strong Family Groups here at St. Charles (each with a core of about eight to twelve families), we're going strong and having a "blast" just getting together to socialize and supporting each other in the true meaning of the Gospel of Christ. Each group meets among themselves about once per month to do things together such as bowling, "pot luck" suppers, hiking, Chrismas Carolling at Nursing Homes, miniature golf, etc. Young or old, single or married, Family Groups are made up of a myriad of people. We are each truly "Family". It's a great way to get to know people and to just plain "have fun". Want to become a part of this?
